Watches

I’ve been searching for something new to add to my jewelry collection. Right now, it mostly consists of Amazon necklaces I never wear, handcrafted earrings from Alaska Native artists that I wear religiously, and earrings that were gifts that don’t seem to match anything.

The Cartier Panthère watch appeared on my TikTok algorithm a year ago (not sure how), and I fell in love with looking for dupes.

But I came across terms I’ve never heard before in reference to watches—automatic, quartz, crown, etc— and so began my watch hyperfixation.

I decided my first adult watch would be an Easy Reader Timex. I need clear numbers to resist the urge to just take out my cellphone and check the time.

The band is brown, vegan leather, and the watch is so beautiful in person!

I have large wrists so I was worried the last notch would be a big snug. But I was surprised at how loose the band was.

I think my next watch will be a Seiko. However, I’m currently waiting to see if my late mother’s gold Bulova watch bracelet can be repaired. It’s so elegant, and it reminds me of her. She loved dainty, feminine things.
